Local Club Bowled Over by Open Day Success!
My fond thought for post-election relaxation was to join our local 
Tring Bowls Club – a suitably venerable institution of over 100 years standing. But to my surprise (and every one else’s) the Lib Dems ended up in a coalition trying to sort out the financial mess. All the opportunities and problems arising from this new situation find me busier than ever. So participation in this healthy and social sport (which, I’m told, can include scones, cream, tea and strawberry jam) will have to wait for now.
However, I was delighted to learn from Geoff Barnett, one of the coaches, that Tring Bowls Club’s recent Open Days and Starter Courses have been a huge success with membership rising significantly.
Well done to Bob Gomarsall and his team for so successfully steering the club into its second century!
